Naama Sabar

Naama Sabar holds the Joanne and Haime Constantiner Chair for Jewish Education at Tel Aviv University. Her fields of specialization are Jewish education, curriculum development and qualitative research methods and in particular its ethical aspects. [br] She has written over 100 refereed articles and chapters as well as several books in Hebrew and in English among them Kibbuzniks in the Diaspora, published by SUNY (2000) which is currently being played by Beer Sheva Theater called Kibbutz L.A, the title of the book’s Hebrew version published in 1996 by Am Oved. Among her other books are The Metamorphosis of a Curriculum published by Yachdaiv, 1988; Qualitative Research Methods in Teaching and Learning by Modan 1996, which was the first book on qualitative research methods published in Hebrew. She has also edited Genres and Tradition in Qualitative Researh by Dvir, 2001. She edited in English along with Jean Rudduck and William Reid Partnership and Autonomy in School Based Curriculum Development - Perspectives from Israel and England. Sheffield, University of Sheffield Press, 1987.[br]Her latest book “Who am I to decide their fate?” Magnes 2007 is her first book with her students. [br]Prof. Sabar is the recipient of the “Tel Aviv award” for research in Education for the year 2005.
